WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
The Dental Crown Treatment Process
TOOTH PREP & CROWN FITTING
To begin the process, Dr. Scott or Dr. Olson will clean and numb your mouth. Then, they will remove any damaged enamel and prepare your tooth to make room for the crown. Next, they’ll take images and digital impressions of the newly-prepared tooth with our Trios intraoral scanner.
BUILDING YOUR DENTAL CROWN
Once they’ve taken impressions of your tooth, Dr. Scott or Dr. Olson will apply a temporary crown to the tooth and send you home. Then, they will work with a dental lab to build your permanent dental crown. This usually takes 2-3 weeks.
FINAL CROWN PLACEMENT
Once your permanent crown has been built and sent to our office, you’ll come in for one last appointment. Dr. Scott or Dr. Olson will remove your temporary crown. Then, they will check the fit of the crown, make any necessary final adjustments, and bond it to your tooth using powerful dental cement. Then, you’ll be sent home to enjoy your new smile!
